Now Hiring for a Voile Videographer

Full-Time, On-Site | Salt Lake City

Voile has been manufacturing simple, solid backcountry gear in the Wasatch Mountains since 1980. From skis and splitboards to bindings and the original Voile Strap, our products are built for people who rely on their gear far from the trailhead.

We’re looking for a full-time in-house Videographer to help tell those stories.

You’ll split time between studio shoots, local mountain missions, road travel, and the editing bay.

What You’ll Create

You’ll produce a steady flow of content ranging from athlete and staff interviews, documentaries, and field product videos to gear reviews, educational pieces, and seasonal campaign assets for web and social media.

Projects may feature skis, splitboards, bindings, and Voile Straps both instudio and in backcountry settings.

This role includes both short-form and long-form storytelling. That means everything from fast-paced 15-second social edits to 20-minute multi-camera documentary-style pieces supported by strong studio footage, outdoor b-roll, and thoughtful editing that keeps viewers engaged.

Responsibilities

You’ll work with the rest of Voile’s creative team on video projects from early planning through final delivery. That includes preparing for shoots, adapting to changing conditions in the field, capturing strong footage and clean audio, then turning raw material into polished finished pieces.

Some weeks will be studio-focused with fast turn-around. Others will involve early starts, mountain weather, or long distance travel. We’re looking for someone who can stay organized, solve problems on the fly, and consistently produce quality work without needing constant oversight.

  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams on creative direction
  • Plan and execute video projects from concept to final delivery
  • Develop storylines, shot lists, and production schedules
  • Manage camera gear, support equipment, and shoot logistics
  • Capture high-quality video in studio settings and outdoor environments
  • Set up and manage studio lighting as needed
  • Record clean, reliable audio for interviews and field use
  • Edit content efficiently in Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Organize footage, project files, and media archives
  • Travel monthly to neighboring states for productions
  • Execute local shoots within driving distance of Salt Lake City

Required Qualifications

  • Strong videography and editing skills (exposure, color grading, frame rates, etc)
  • Experienced backcountry skier or splitboarder
  • Current AIARE 1 and Avalanche Rescue certification
  • Willingness to film in backcountry
  • Ability to travel for several days on a monthly basis
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro + Mac
  • Drone operation experience
  • Telemark skiing familiarity
  • Documentary storytelling experience

Benefits

  • Health insurance negotiable after 90 days
  • PTO eligibility after one year
  • Flexible time off
  • Immediate access to industry pro deals

Who You Are

You’re dependable, self-directed, creative, and comfortable in changing conditions. You can film in a snowstorm, drive home, organize footage, and deliver a polished edit under your own guidance. You understand that authenticity matters more than hype, that a job worth doing is worth doing right, and that credible outdoor media comes from real experience.

Above all, you take real pride in your work and strive to make the best possible version of whatever you’re creating. You care about details, push for quality, and don’t cut corners when something can be better.

To Apply

Send your resume, portfolio, highlight reel, and a short letter explaining your backcountry experience and why you’d be a strong fit for Voile.

Applications should be sent to our Marketing Director: ereed@voile.com
