Inspired by skimo racing, the latest members of our ski family place an emphasis on fast ascents and long-distance travel. They reside somewhere between our WSP and UltraVector skis.

    Witness the new Voilé Objective.

Equally at home atop The Haute Route or on a long jaunt in The Catskills, these skis are light enough to go the distance and stiff enough to hold an edge on boilerplate. They won’t exactly shine in deep powder, but many an East Coast skier will likely press them into service at their local ski resort.

And as for the Voilé Traction Pattern Base, you already know the deal with that, right?

*The Traction Pattern base does not eliminate the need to carry skins.

    Early Rise Camber

A directional, hard-carving turn personality makes this ski feel very powerful. A more traditional shape, with a turn radius on the longer side. This ski is characterised as stable and assertive.

Tip: Early-rise tip and wide shovel provide excellent float in powder.
Waist: Long running length. Engineered for strong edging ability when fast and steep. Cambered underfoot for stability.
Tail: Minimal taper, with a wide and flat hard-working tail for control in debris and harder conditions.

    Hyper Series BC

Full Cap / Paulownia / Double Carbon / Traction Pattern Base
Ultralight paulownia construction that shaves nearly a pound per pair for easier ascents.

Traction Pattern "BC" scalebase has been included underfoot to allow for fewer transitions when traversing rolling terrain.

    Icon

    Anti-Ice Topsheet
Crafted from exceptionally durable polyamide material, and designed with a unique texture that effectively reduces the accumulation of snow and ice. This innovative feature is particularly beneficial during long approaches or in freezing conditions, where snow and ice buildup would normally hinder performance.

    Icon

    Paulownia Wood Core
Renowned for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, this paulownia delivers a combination of durability and featherlight agility. It's the ideal foundation for constructing ultralight touring skis, making it the perfect choice for backcountry enthusiasts seeking maximum efficiency and agility on their mountain adventures.

    Icon

    Voile Carbon-Weave x2
Two layers of Voile Carbon-Weave combine the lightweight strength of carbon fiber with the durability of triaxial fiberglass. The strategic integration of carbon fiber into the ski's construction reduces the weight while providing the perfect blend of responsiveness, stability, and energy transfer, allowing skiers to maneuver with precision and control.

    Icon

    Triaxial Fiberglass
Triaxial fiberglass increases dimensional stability along three axis, providing for balanced torsional stiffness and enhancing your ability to control the ski (precise and firm edge grip). Triaxial fiberglass maintains a consistent flex pattern throughout the ski, ensuring predictable performance across different snow conditions and skiing styles.

    Icon

    Full-Contact Steel Edge
Steel edges provide superior grip and control on hardpacked snow and icy conditions, enhancing stability and confidence while skiing. Two lengths of hardened steel with inset teeth wrap the perimeter of this ski. Each section is painstakingly shaped by hand to ensure a precise layup.

    Icon

    Sintered Black Base
This ski passes on the base graphics for the sake of an ultra-high molecular density base; making for faster downhill performance and greater wear/impact resistance. And you can rest assured that your p-tex repairs will be seamless after your day spent breaking the sound barrier.

    Icon

    Traction Pattern Base
For the backcountry skier who makes long approaches over rolling terrain, scaled base reduces the climbing skin transitions necessary to make it to their summit... perhaps negating the need for climbing skins entirely! The "scale base" underfoot creates friction against the snow surface when the ski is decambered, and then glides with the skier's forward stride.

These are great. I bought a pair of the first generation and I find myself using them more and more each season. I use mine for primarily for low angle trees and meadow skipping, but they are often pushed into steeper terrain when conditions are stable. \nI mounted the mountaineer binding on top of the hardwire riser (prior to the statement against using w/ telemark bindings) . I use the lightest/softest tele boot I could find. No skins, no need for wax and zero transitions make for many easy laps in most conditions...I've pretty much ditched my T1/22designs setup at this point and come full circle back to light & simple telemark...\nMy only gripe is that I would have bought a longer length than 178 if it were available. It's a great bc telemark ski & seemed to be a step up in performance from similar patterned skis on the market which is why I chose a pair. I totally understand the statement against using telemark bindings on these as they use lightweight construction. Skiing the resort or very firm conditions with these and a telemark binding feels like it'd contribute to a ripped out binding fast. It'd be cool for Voile to keep a skinny ski like this around for pinheads though, just sayin'

I have been backcountry skiing in Alaska for 22 years and am currently skiing the 171 voile objectives with dynafit radical bindings. I am 6'1" and weigh 180 lbs. \nI have carried these skis over 60 miles on my back, skied them in July on 13,000ft+ peaks in the Alaska Range and am currently using them to ski deep blower powder. They easily make tight turns in steep couloirs, float well at high speeds and are incredibly light!

They are my go everywhere exploration ski and i own several Voilé skis and others. Around here, we have a lot of rolling hills and the fish scale works perfectly to get up with installing skins. In fact, i don't use skins very often. They are not powder ski but they do alright. I can't do 30km day with them. We are several Objective BC skiers as today in eastern Quebec, Canada!

    NNN BC and Leathers

I have been having a blast on these. I wasn’t sure NNN BC and Leathers was going to be realistic on this wide a ski, but it seems to be working out great so far. I have been skiing mostly spring snow, and some older, not very deep (8”-12”) powder.\nI know these skis are not intended for NNN BC and Leathers, but I’m not the only one doing this (search TelemarkTalk.com).\nIt’s great to be able to ski up or down with no concern about wax or skins. I’m not expecting great performance on hard snow with this setup — the boots and bindings probably don’t provide enough support for that.\nI mounted the bindings using epoxy soaked into the wood core to distribute the binding screw load over a bigger area.\nBottom line, really happy I gave this a try.

I put a lot of time into thinking about my ideal ski for doing long ski mountaineering traverses as fast as possible- routes like the Sierra High Route or Wind River High Route. Ideally you could kick and glide the flats, skin steeper sections, transition quickly, and be competent and fun on the downhills and the Objective BC is really the only ski that meets those criteria. Since you don't spend all your time on the big objectives, I've found that this is a fun ski for recreational skimo races, 10k days because why not, and generally going fast up and down in the backcountry. They're impressively predictable and confidence inspiring on the way down in a way that skimo race skis just aren't. While it is true that the fishscales add a bit of friction on the downhills and there are times in the flats on an exit that you'll have to start kicking and gliding earlier, I've found that the overall time gained by not having to sidestep up the little bumps or contemplate whether or not you should put your skins back on and just be able to unlock the heel and keep cruising through low angled terrain is well worth the compromise. The 171 length with Dynafit 150 bindings and lightweight boots is an excellent combination for going everywhere fast with no compromises.
