Voile Vector ACE Skis Camber Profile

    ACE Series

Partial Cap with Continuous Sidewall / Paulownia / Double Carbon / Maple Mounting Patch
Ultralight, and yet our dampest ski platform. A paulownia core with continuous sidewall for improved edging ability and a maple mounting patch for unmatched binding security.

    Icon

    Anti-Ice Topsheet
Crafted from exceptionally durable polyamide material, and designed with a unique texture that effectively reduces the accumulation of snow and ice. This innovative feature is particularly beneficial during long approaches or in freezing conditions, where snow and ice buildup would normally hinder performance.

    Icon

    Continuous TPU Sidewall
Continuous sidewall construction not only enhances the structural integrity of the ski but also serves as a crucial element in dampening vibrations, resulting in a smoother and more stable ride. It ensures consistent flex throughout the ski, promoting a balanced and predictable performance across various snow conditions and terrain types.

    Icon

    Paulownia Wood Core
Renowned for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, this paulownia delivers a combination of durability and featherlight agility. It's the ideal foundation for constructing ultralight touring skis, making it the perfect choice for backcountry enthusiasts seeking maximum efficiency and agility on their mountain adventures.

    Icon

    Maple Mounting Patch
A maple mounting patch offers unparalleled binding pullout resistance, ensuring that bindings remain securely attached to the ski during aggressive maneuvers and high-speed descents. Additionally, the maple mounting patch enhances the durability and longevity of the ski, effectively distributing stress and preventing damage over time. Telemark compatible.

    Icon

    Voile Carbon-Weave x2
Two layers of Voile Carbon-Weave combine the lightweight strength of carbon fiber with the durability of triaxial fiberglass. The strategic integration of carbon fiber into the ski's construction reduces the weight while providing the perfect blend of responsiveness, stability, and energy transfer, allowing skiers to maneuver with precision and control.

    Icon

    Triaxial Fiberglass
Triaxial fiberglass increases dimensional stability along three axis, providing for balanced torsional stiffness and enhancing your ability to control the ski (precise and firm edge grip). Triaxial fiberglass maintains a consistent flex pattern throughout the ski, ensuring predictable performance across different snow conditions and skiing styles.

    Icon

    Full-Contact Steel Edge
Steel edges provide superior grip and control on hardpacked snow and icy conditions, enhancing stability and confidence while skiing. Two lengths of hardened steel with inset teeth wrap the perimeter of this ski. Each section is painstakingly shaped by hand to ensure a precise layup.

    Icon

    Sintered Black Base
This ski passes on the base graphics for the sake of an ultra-high molecular density base; making for faster downhill performance and greater wear/impact resistance. And you can rest assured that your p-tex repairs will be seamless after your day spent breaking the sound barrier.

I really don't want this to sound like a magazine review

But the skis are kinda that good. For the last few years, my daily drivers have been Blizzard Rustler 9s and Supercharger BCs, and an in the past I've been on Charger BCs and Vector BCs, along with a smattering of Black Diamonds. The Vector BCs were my first pair of Voiles, and I found the design felt like it had a lot of promise, but the combination of construction and sizing made them ski rather small which isn't really what I was looking for at 6'4". But the promise was there, so after I let those go I got my hands on Charger BCs. Those proved the magic of Voile's designs in the rolling mountains of Western Maine though still proved to sometimes be the wrong kind of exciting when things got icy (as they tend to do here). The Superchargers brought a construction that stood up turning on ice (and rocks, and roots, and ice climbers...), but lost some maneuverability in the forest. The Rustlers have been my inbounds lift & skinning pair for lets say less soft conditions. They haven't really let me down, but I also haven't been super stoked on them. Now that we've gotten that context out of the way, I first got to try the Vector Aces for one lap. Normally I wouldn't want to make decisions after one lap, but it might have been the right mess of conditions of both snow and me to really highlight what the Vector Aces are. It was a very spring like February day at Black Mountain of Maine, but more importantly it was day 3 of Last Skier Standing. I had spent the last few days and nights out helping out with the event (someone has to give the competitors brownies on the summit at sunrise). I had also been taking other volunteers for a tour of the glades and BC as we finally had a storm that made the woods skiable. As the woods were good, I didn't make it back to the frontside of the mountain for most of the tele demos on Sunday but thankfully the Vector Aces were available for me to swipe for a lap as those were the pair I was most interested in given an upcoming tour. By the late afternoon the snow had evolved into cut up manky hot pow split up by beat up groomers, good skating ice, and various bald spots. Earlier I had found that both Rustlers and Superchargers had speed limits in those conditions between either a lack of float or a tendency to get deflected. Despite tired legs and brain the Vectors ACEs happily outperformed both. From the first turn they were happily predictable holding an edge on ice (and dirt), punching into the mank bumps, and making quick turns. No surprises like being hooky while also not feeling boring and over damped as the energy you put into them came back to you. Five turns in and I wasn't thinking about 'how do I prep for this next surface transition', it was just the joy of skiing with no worries about the equipment. At the bottom, I put an order in for a pair contingent on it still seeming like a good idea once my brain was functional. A month or so later, they were mine and were rather enjoyable at the tail end of the season here in Maine and up on the Rockpile. My Superchargers and Rustlers started to get lonely. More importantly I brought them for my first Alps hut tour. I hemmed and hawed a lot about bringing my Superchargers given a meter and a half of snow had been dropped on the glacier in the week before the trip, but the Vector ACEs were by far and away the right choice with the traversing that we did. Glacial and groomer ice, fresh and hot pow, wind board, rolling glaciers, and steeps they continued to eat it up. I'm tempted to take a star off for the lack of BC scales with ACE construction (if you need someone to take something Manti ACE BC-ish for a walk give me a holler), but damn did the Vector ACEs turn out nice.

Vector Ace has become my go-to BC ski. Light, floaty & reliable. Be sure to de-tune new boards if you are resort bound.

Been really psyched on these skis. The sidewall adds a whole new dimension to this proven shape. Smooth flex and progressive flex paired with the perfect amount of camber. I have been skiing this ski in the resort and am blown away by its performance. I can push and load the skier harder than the regular Vector and it chatters less and holds an edge better. Highly recommend.
