SKU: 608-152 Voile TTS Transit Bindings

I have been exclusively skiing telemark for over twenty years. I finally made the transition over to NTN boots last season and I have been enjoying Voile’s TTS binding. I exclusively toured with it last winter on 30+ days. The binding makes the uphill climbs feel effortless with its considerable drop in weight and range of motion compared to the traditional 75mm bindings I used to tour with. Pairing this binding with Scarpa’s new TX Pros has been the backcountry kit that I’ve been wanting for years. I love the minimalistic style to the binding as well. It makes it easy to work on if parts fail when you’re on long remote trips. When the crampons came out, I bought a pair too. I love how they clip onto the binding. It’s really easy to take them on/off. I have noticed ice will build up around the crampon mount. I feel like that’s pretty standard though and it is easy to clean out. I originally had the springs that came with the binding kit and then bought the softer springs. I feel like the softer springs are more similar to 75mm bindings I’ve ridden and they still hold up great in variable crusts/conditions. Overall, I’m super pleased with the TTS bindings and find they strike a nice balance between the new and old styles of telemark. There are several recommendations I want to share to keep dialing in this awesome binding. First, my boots are size 25 and I ride with the heel bail positioned closest to the pin binding. This makes it so that I can’t tour uphill with the heel bail down and attached to the binding system. I have had to take the heel bail off with every transition. I’ve played around with the hook position and spring tightness and there’s not a sweet spot that makes the binding tight enough but long enough to work both up and down. It isn’t difficult to put them back on but it does eat up time and can be challenging in icy and windy conditions. Taking the heel bails off/on has also contributed to some movement in the position of the springs throughout the day. I placed a mark on the metal hooks so that I have a visual to adjust them back. I am sure this is less of an issue if you’re touring with the heel bail still attached. Second, I would also love a toe guard to make clicking into the toe piece more seamless. The plastic around my boots did get pretty chewed up this season (partially from just learning to click in to NTN bindings). Lastly, I know it’s historically difficult to have adaptable heel risers for tele boots but it would be so helpful to have a third riser option. Maybe a future design could have 3 risers integrated into the heel. My shins and calves would greatly appreciate it! I keep my uphill tracks at a mellow angle so I might get the mid-sized riser that comes separate and change it out for the taller one that I rarely use. Thanks Voile!

I have been free-heel skiing for over 50 years and have 100 days on these. They work great, light weight with great edge control and no boot rotation in the binding. I just wish they would put a toe stop on the front of the toe piece to aid in stepping in.

I’ve always been partial to the switchback reliability and I love tech toe pivot range transitioning on steep traverses with this tech toe. This binding is the best of both!!! My one and only complaint is the tech toe is very finicky to engage. If you’re on soft snow the ski can rock a little side to side as you attempt to engage the pins. It can take several trys to get it aligned. I wish they had a kick bumper stop to align to pins more easily.
