Once I heard Scarpa was releasing a new boot I couldn't stop thinking about. I put in a early reservation and waited several months for the boots to arrive. I was impressed by quality and fit. I wore a 28 mondo in the old TX Pro and the new version fit the same but the fit is more refined with the new liner and mold. I can tour in this boot all day and not get any blisters. The walk mode is unreal, and feels like I am walking in tennis shoes. The boot is so much better walking than the old boot. The flex of the boot also feels similar to a Scarpa T2 but just a bit stiffer after the boot was fully broken in. It took me about a month of skiing before I felt the boot was broken in. When making turns the boot feels more upright, which I think is a good thing for steeper terrain. I am very impressed with the way these boots handle turns. So the down sides? Well the ski walk mech is not very reliable for me. My first turns on the boots they popped out of ski mode and would not stay locked in! The ski walk mech was later replaced by Scarpa however Scarpa was not willing to replace the boots and told me to just monitor the issue. I still have problems every now and then however. The only fix by Scarpa is to make sure to keep the bolts tight on the ski walk mech. The bolts seem to loosen even though they got loctite on them. I have seen other people report to have similar problems. I will continue to monitor this issue over the next winter season!
