The Alfa Free Xplore 2.0 changes what’s possible on the Rottefella Xplore platform. This is not a soft touring boot with a little extra support. It’s a laterally stiff, plastic-cuffed design with an AT-style walk mode that drives wider skis with real authority, yet still tours efficiently. If you’ve been waiting for an Xplore boot that feels closer to an alpine touring experience on the descent, this is it.
A BOA lower system and internal lacing create a precise, dialed fit that holds your foot in place when terrain gets firm or technical. The plastic heel and cuff increase edge control and stability, while the walk mode unlocks natural stride for long approaches and rolling terrain. It’s a boot built to expand the ceiling of XCD skiing without abandoning the freedom that makes it fun.
The upper combines durable textiles with a waterproof GORE-TEX membrane to keep feet dry through storm days and variable snow. Insulation is tuned for winter use without feeling bulky, and the sole interfaces cleanly with the Xplore binding for confident power transfer.
