Xplore: Modern XCD Stability
The Rottefella Xplore Backcountry Off-Track binding reimagines what a backcountry free-heel interface can do. By moving the rotation axis rearward—closer to the foot—the binding offers improved mobility uphill and enhanced stability downhill. The wide boot-to-binding connection interface increases steering control, while the SpringPin step-in mechanism allows quick entry and exit and resists snow pack by situating the pins on the sides of the boot. A 36 mm heel lifter eases climbing on steep terrain, and modular flex plates (All-Round, Hard, Free Pivot) allow you to tune stiffness depending on the terrain.
Highlights:
• Enhanced edge feel and leverage thanks to rearward pivot location
• Step-in / step-out simplicity with SpringPin locking
• Interchangeable flexors for uphill, down, or mixed terrain
• Heel lifter for steeper ascents
• Compatible only with XP boots having the integrated Xplore sole/interface
