Each set of Hyper Glide skins comes with a trim tool, nylon stuff sack, and promise to be the best skins you’ve ever slapped on your skis.
CONSTRUCTION
- 70% Mohair – 30% Nylon
- Hardened and Anodized Aluminum Tip Plate
- Stainless Steel Rivets
- Stainless Steel Full-Wrap Tip Loop
- Elastic Tail Strap with Universal Tail Clip
- Safer Skin: A 100% waterproof membrane that prevents the transfer of moisture between the skin’s plush and adhesive layers. This drastically improves the glue performance from edge to edge while also increasing the skin’s tear resistance. This (2nd) generation of their lining is made with finer layers, which effectively reduce weight and make the skin more pliable (easier to trim, handle, and stow).
- Ever Dry: This hydrophobic treatment is applied to the entire length of the skin’s fibres, guaranteeing life-long protection without the need for antiglopping sprays.

After many years of using 100% Mohair Skins, I decided to give these blends a try this year. I have been really psyched on the great glide characteristics and the durability of the glue. The tip and tail pieces are simple and effective. The bonus to me is how light they are!

I have two sets of hyperglide skins. I have been very impressed with them.

The plastic tail clips do not work well. On a recent trip near Silverton CO (steep backcountry) the tails kept coming off. Had to resort to straps around the skis to keep them on. Others in the party with different brands did not have a similar problem. I wish Voile had a solution for this problem. I wouldn't buy these skins because of the tail clips. BTW- I love my Ultravector and Manti skis.

I purchased 15 pairs of these skins and used them on a 10-day wilderness expedition in Chic Chocs with a group of students. Skins performed amazingly in minus 20 - minus 25 temperatures in powder conditions. Glide, almost equivalent to no-skins. Tail clip did not fit well with Madshus Panorama skis (The groove on the tail of these skis is three millimeters too narrow. As a result clips would often come off, disengaging the tail end of the skins. Clips were also hard to engage in cold conditions and impossible to tighten. (None of the above would be true for day trips, where you apply skins in controlled environment). Overall BD metal clip, used on our BD skins performed better, while Voile skins themselves are much superior

These pack small, glide great, and have plenty of grip. I prefer Voile's tip loop over the Pomoca tip loop. It sits more flush and stays put laterally. They don't pack as small as the pink Pomocas, but they seem a lot more durable. \n\nIn reference to previous reviews about the tail clip, this seems to be common with Voile ski's rounded tails. I have two sets of these, one for BD Helio and one for Voile Hyper V8. The Hyper V8 sometimes slides off due to the lack of a tail divot for skins. However, I love the way the V8s ski so its a small price to pay.
