"Chasing winter in the summer is exciting for many reasons, but this year clean air was among them. Hot and dry weather was already fuelling record-breaking forest fires that have continued in western North America."
This was a great route to ski in the winter, with a terrific variety of conditions and scenery. It was by no means easy, but the rewards were always just around the corner: whether it be views, downhills, or better weather.
"We slapped our skins back on and plowed upwards through the mass of seething humanity, beating a hasty exit into the Minturn Mile... I’ve never been so happy to see a sign telling me that I might die."
"If you’d told me at this time last season that I’d have fewer days of skiing under my belt than eclipses in a century, I would have gawked at you with horrified, tear stung eyes, unable to fathom such an atrocity."
We'd like to thank the Academy for bestowing another great honor on the acclaimed Voile SuperCharger, "a backcountry ski capable of resort time and fully at home on the skin track in search of fresh lines."
