This initiative is all about breaking down barriers and helping more women step confidently into the world of backcountry skiing and riding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications open on <strong>Saturday, March 8th<\/strong>, and will close on <strong>Tuesday, April 8th<\/strong>. Winners will be announced the following week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who Can Apply<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We know that many women are eager to venture further into the backcountry, but access to the right gear can be a major hurdle. That\u2019s where this scholarship comes in. Whether you\u2019re brand new to skiing or splitboarding, making the leap from resort laps to backcountry lines, or ready to push from mellow tours into technical mountaineering terrain, we want to help you get there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why &#8220;Women Only&#8221;<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>This scholarship isn\u2019t about exclusion\u2014it\u2019s about <strong>creating balance<\/strong>. The backcountry community is growing, but women remain underrepresented. The <strong>Voile Scholarship for Women in the Backcountry<\/strong> is our way of helping to shift that, by equipping and empowering more women and woman-identifying adventurers to explore the mountains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*Due to legal restrictions, applicants must be 21 years of age or older and reside in the United States of America<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Grand Prize:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A <a href=\"http:\/\/voile.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Voile.com<\/a> credit of $1,600 USD to be used towards a pair of Voile skis or splitboard, bindings, shovel, probe, pole, and crampons.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><em>*Eligible skis include all standard-edition skis (Hyper Series skis are excluded.)<\/em> <em>Prizes are inventory-dependent. Submit through the Voile Scholarship for Women in the Backcountry Application below (available on March 8th, 2025, and closing on April 8th, 2025 at 5 pm MST).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Include no fewer than three pictures of you in your element.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Essays will be judged by a combination of: <\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Quality of narrative.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Compelling intentions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clarity of stoke.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">By entering, participants give Voile Mfg rights to post essays and photos on&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.instagram.com\/voilemfg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">@voilemfg Instagram<\/a>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/voile.com\/blog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">V-Team Backcountry Blog<\/a>. Both the winners\u2019 essays, photos, and social media profiles will be highlighted on Voile\u2019s social channels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Judges of winners include female Voile Mfg employees. ELIGIBILITY: Each Voile Scholarship for Women in the Backcountry (\u201cPromotion\u201d) is offered and open only to legal residents of such jurisdiction(s) as stated in the advertisement for such Promotion (\u201cPromotion Advertisement\u201d) who are age 21 or older at time of entry. Void in all other states and where prohibited. Prize must be redeemed within 1 year of winning date.&nbsp;Current Voile Mfg. employees, partners, and ambassadors are restricted from entering this contest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. PROMOTION PERIOD: The Voile Scholarship for Women in the Backcountry Promotion starts on the start date indicated on the Promotion Advertisement and, unless otherwise stated on a Promotion Advertisement, ends on or about 5:00:00 pm MST on the end date indicated on the Promotion Advertisement (\u201cPromotion Period\u201d). Sponsor\u2019s clock is the official time keeping device for the Promotion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. HOW TO ENTER: Follow any entry instructions as set forth on the Voile Scholarship for Women in the Backcountry Promotion Advertisement. Submit an essay with a minimum of three photos of the applicant pictured somewhere in the photo. All entries must be submitted through the Google Forms link provide in the Promotion advertisement. Entries that are submitted via email, social media messengers, or any other formats will be considered incomplete and not considered. All entries become the property of Sponsor and posted to their website for public visibility. Promotion Entities assume no responsibility for lost, late, incomplete, inaccurate, stolen, misdirected, postage due or illegible entries; nor for any computer, telephone, cable network, electronic or Internet hardware or software malfunctions, failures, connections, or availability, or garbled, corrupt, or jumbled transmissions; nor service provider, Internet, Web site, user net accessibility or availability, traffic congestion, or any technical error; nor for unauthorized human intervention, human error, or the incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry or other information; nor for the failure to capture any such information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY: Once submitted, entry cannot be modified, deleted, or canceled. Entries may not infringe or violate the rights of any third party. Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion, to refuse, disqualify, or withdraw entries and\/or Entrants at any time during the Promotion. Entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. SELECTION OF WINNERS: Sponsor will conduct judging on or about the date(s) indicated on the Voile Scholarship for Women in the Backcountry Promotion Advertisement, from all eligible entries received to such date. Entries will be judged by Sponsor: female Voile Mfg employees. Other employees or V-Team ambassadors may be required to help judge if the volume of submissions is overwhelming. Finalists essays to be selected&nbsp;<strong>based on<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>a combination of narrative quality, compelling intentions, clarity of stoke, empathy and approachability of story.&nbsp;<\/strong>A winner will be selected from among these finalists using popular vote from the judging panel. The too will determine the runner up winner. Only one entry per participant will be considered. Sponsor will select the number of winners indicated on the Promotion Advertisement. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received and the number of prizes to be given away. Potential winner(s) will be contacted via the email address provided at the time of entry, or such other method as may be practical in Sponsor\u2019s discretion, within 5 to 10 business days after the selection of winners. You are not a winner until Sponsor has verified your eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules. Potential prize winners may be required to complete, have notarized and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability and, where legal, Publicity Release within seven (7) calendar days of notification or attempted notification. Sponsor will make one attempt to notify each potential winner, who will have twenty-four (24) hours to respond. If (a) Sponsor is unable to contact a potential winner; (b) a potential winner fails to respond to a notification attempt within 24 hours; (c) a potential winner fails to timely return or properly complete the above-described release documents; (d) a prize notification or any prize is returned as non-deliverable; or (e) a potential winner is not eligible or does not comply with these Official Rules, prize forfeiture will result and an alternate potential winner may be selected. If a winner for any prize cannot be confirmed within 30 days of the drawing date, then the prize will not be awarded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. PRIZE(S) AND APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE (ARV): Grand prize consists of a credit of $1,600 USD to be used towards a pair of Voile skis or splitboard, bindings, shovel, probe, pole, and crampons \u2013 as stated in the Voile Scholarship for Women in the Backcountry Promotion Advertisement. The runner-up prize consists of a credit of $800 USD to be used towards a pair of Voile skis or splitboard. The prize credit can NOT be used towards products from third-party brands that are offered at retail on voile.com i.e. Dynafit, Atomic 22 Designs, etc. The number of prizes to be given away, their description(s) and approximate retail value is as indicated on the Promotion Advertisement.&nbsp;<em>Voile cannot provide or guarantee equipment that is low inventory or out of stock. Prize orders will be treated as regular customer orders.<\/em>&nbsp;Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value based on inventory. Prize(s) are not redeemable for cash. No substitution or transfer of prizes will be permitted except at Sponsor\u2019s sole discretion. All federal, state and local taxes and other fees associated with prize receipt and use are the sole responsibility of the winner. At Sponsor\u2019s discretion, winner may be required to pick up their prize at a specified location within a reasonable time period (as determined solely by Sponsor), or prize may be mailed to winner approximately sixty (60) days after the end of the Promotion Period, to the address provided by winner at time of prize acceptance. Prizes may be provided or mailed unassembled. Winner is solely responsible for assembling or arranging for the assembly of any unassembled prizes upon receipt. Prizes will be delivered to winners approximately 30 (days) after the end of the Promotion Period and verification\/confirmation of winners and before the event, either by mail, private delivery service, or in-person immediately prior to the event for which the tickets are valid, at Sponsor\u2019s sole discretion. Promotions that are equipment rentals must be used during the date specified, or such other date established by Sponsor. Winner agrees that the prize is awarded pursuant to a revocable, nontransferable license personal to that applicable winner. Winner agrees not to sell, resell, auction, barter, assign, exchange, place in commerce, transfer, give away, donate, or otherwise convey rental package or received prize. A violation of these restrictions shall revoke that winner\u2019s license, and the prize may not be honored. Any difference between the approximate value and actual value of the prize or any element thereof will not be awarded in cash or otherwise. All expenses not expressly stated in the Promotion Advertisement are the sole responsibility of the winner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7. GENERAL: By participating in the Voile Scholarship for Women in the Backcountry, participants agree to abide by and be bound to these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor, which are final and binding in all respects. Failure to timely return or properly complete release documents (as described herein), or if a prize notification or any prize is returned as non-deliverable, or if potential winner is not eligible or does not comply with these Official Rules prize forfeiture will result and an alternate potential winner may be selected.
